Congratulations Dr. Devin Carroll, who successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on "Adding Actuation to Found Material: A Design Methodology" under the advisory of Mark Yim on July 6, 2023.
Carroll is known for his creativity and ingenuity, as seen in IceBot: A Robot Made of Ice (and winning a Guinness World Record in the process) and StickBot: A Robot Made of Sticks.
Parting with a piece of advice for doctoral candidates in MEAM, Carroll offered, "[Do] not be afraid of asking for help when you need it. Everyone in the department, faculty and staff alike, is always on top of their game and are more than willing to assist students when they ask."
